I wrap, bake, remove from the dowels and cut with the wood burner. I never starch them, as there's no need, they always hold their shape. If you periodically wipe your wood burner on a damp cloth (esp after cutting a dark ribbon) you'll find you're less likely to have problems with marks being left.
