What ribbon are you using? meaning maker - schiff, UB, yama, etc?
I find starching and/or baking the bow is the best way for the bow to stay "flat" and the loops perky.
No picture since I'm at work but I do use either UB ribbon or ribbon that I buy from HL, JoAnn's, etc.
I just started baking and starching them and it does seem to help but it just seems like something isn't right. I'll try to upload a picture later on.
I wasn't sure if I was spreading it wide enough or something?
