Default NOT the same old question about non-slip lining for snap clips

I want to make some no slip snap clips for my 5 month old, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. I know what to use to make them non slip, but I'm not sure of the best way to assemble it. Should I wrap the clip with grosgrain (like Michelle's wonderful directions michelle%27s%20snap%20clip.jpg
then put the shelf liner on top of that? Or, is there somehow a way to partially line with grosgrain and partially with shelf liner? Does it stay in fine hair well with only the top lined, or should the bottom somehow get lined too? It is so much easier with the alligator clips, but I think the snap clips are so cute in fine hair on little heads.
