No special printer, but you will need transfer paper. I got mine at HL. Just buy or make graphics...if you know how to make graphics, I would love to know....and print them right on the transfer paper. The ladies who make them will send you an info sheet that tells you how to set your print options. Once printed, you need to draw lines so you can cut them. Once cut, just lay it on the ribbon and iron. The amount of time is hard to determine and you just have to play around with it. I got a little tulip craft iron, and I love it for making my ribbon. HTH!!
