Default My korkers are driving me insane!!!

Ugh! Ok, so I made some korkers last night. Here is my problem...if I tie them, I can get them nice and tight but they are not round! If I sew them, they are so nice and round but they don't feel very secure. I'm afraid they feel like they will fall apart. I load them all up on the needle, pull tight to the knot, then rerun my needle through the best I can (using some 1/8 ribbon so its hard) and tie off. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I make them tighter? I'm using a heavy duty thread. Thanks! I'm about ready to pull my hair out!!
