I usually take photos by a bright sunny window. I've done some outside too, but I have to make sure I do it at the right time of day, and with my crazy kids that doesn't always happen. I used to use a plain ol point and shoot camera on the macro setting and they almost always came out decently. I splurged an a dslr last year and it's made a huge difference in the photos. I still edit them though to brighten/darken, crop, sharpen. I also avoid using the flash as much as possible. I've seen some terrrrrible photos out there, and it just does not do your bows any justice.
I'd like to know how a light box works though? What do you use, and how do the photos look?
