Default Re: Boutique B-Day Party Hats

I didn't even know they sold instructions for that sort of thing, lol.

Here's what I did a couple of years ago...

1. Buy pack of party hats at dollar store for $1. Remove the staples on the back of one and flatten it out to get your pattern. This will also show how big you need to print off any words, pictures, graphics you want to print for them.

2. In Word or your photo/graphics program, type out what you want to say with the page set up to 'landscape.' Print it on photo paper or card stock. Cut it out with your pattern. My paper was just a smidge too small for my pattern and the very top point was 'cut off' but that was alright since I put fluffy stuff on the top, covering it.

3. Build the hat and staple, glue, or tape in place. Decorate with boa, trim, etc and a hot glue gun. Add an elastic thread to hold it under the chin.

Man, I wish I had taken a pic of those! They had sparkly boa stuff and the girls names on them. After hours and hours and hours of abuse they finally fell apart, lol. I think they must have played 'birthday party' 100s of times!
Have a great day! ~ Tonya
