I wouldn't do it. I once received some eBay ribbon that smelled strongly of gasoline. I had to throw it in a plastic baggie with a dryer sheet for a few days to get the smell out. Fabric definitely absorbs odor, and it seems to me that you would cook that garlic smell right into your korkers.
