Ideally, you want the fronts to go straight up and down and the backs to go straight side to side, if that makes any sense at all. That is what makes it a twisted boutique and not just a boutique. So, try pulling the backs of the loops more horizontally. Here is a good page with tips for how to fluff the bow.

I always starch and bake ALL my twisted boutiques to make them behave! Especially when doing a layered boutique.

Always, Always click siggies to peek at the work of who's advice you're following. You'll get soooo much advice here. Its up to you to follow the advice of the person that you want to create bows like.
