Just keep practicing, girl! You'll get the hang of it!!! I bought a spool of grosgrain (I agree with the girls that said it is a bit easier to work with!) and just made bow after bow and I finally figured it out. After each bow, I made a mental note of what I would try to make this part stick up higher or this part more fuller until I tweeked my technique enough to make a nice one. (Though I'm still no expert!)
Oh, I also use a bow maker which is a couple dowel rods in a piece of wood with the inches marked off. I bought mine from the ribbon retreat. That might be something you're interested in.
