Wood is the trickiest thing for me to paint on. I used adhesive for my stencil so it didn't slip and made sure the brush was not super saturated like someone said earlier. I also use the circle sponges that come on a stick. You can get them at Walmart or Michaels. Again, do not put too much paint on. Also, the eraser on a pencil works for smaller dots.

If you get the circle up there you can always go back in with a second coat and an angled paint brush works better for me.

Practice also helps!! At least it helped me!!
