If you're talking stencling - you have to make sure your stencil brush is "dry" so to speak...tap the excess off on a paper plate or something similar.

If you're trying to do small polka dots, use the other end of your paint brush...dip the end in the paint (not too much paint now!) and holding the paint brush straight up and down (as in perpendicular to the paper or project) touch it on your project.

Other than that, I'm not sure!
