Macro is great. If you are doing it inside, make sure you have lots of light, and a steady hand. I bought a tripod at the Dollar Tree. It helps a lot. The best though is taking it outside on a sunny day. You don't have to worry about a flash, and if your hand is a little shaky, you can't tell as much. I also googled for a home made light box. I found one on livejournal. All I needed was a cardboard box, some pieces of posterboard, and some tape.
