I usually use about 35-40+ pieces cut in 2" strands. Also, you don't want to pull them because depending on how tight you tie them, they could look "pulled". I usually trim the korkers once I'm done tying them. Also, if you kork your own ribbon, you want to make sure you have a tight curl. Hope this helps and don't give up! It takes practice! Good luck .
