Question Need some help, Please

I am fairly new here and you all are very talented. I get very inspired looking out your work.I have been making bows for 3 years. My question might be stupid one but my DM always said if you don't know the answer then it is not stupid. I have made some of the "Funky" layered bows and they turned out pretty well but my thing is when I put one in my daughter's hair for our shopping trip it did not want to stay in very well. I have never had this problem before. It seemed maybe a little too heavy. I had a base bow, twisted boutique, spikes and loopy loops. Is this too much to put in one? Most that I have seen has this much or more in them. And it also seemed to be too thick even moving my centers a little. Does anyone else have this problem? And what is the best way to fix it? Sorry so long. I love making them I just want to make sure other people will not have this problem if they buy them.
