I sew my bows. I wrap the thread around the bow (double layered thread) a few times and then pull it tight and then stitch back through the middle of the bow, pull tight, then stitch through the middle of the bow again this time knotting my thread and then pulling tight.

I have tried a number of things the floral wire didn't hold up well for me (I use my three year old as my tester) I would make a bow as a demo and give it to him to play with and if he could tear it apart then I knew it wasn't strong enough, so I had to play with a bunch of different options, and what I am doing now is what has held up to the toddler challenge, which IMO if a toddler can't rip it apart then it has to be pretty durable lol
