I just get my sewing needle and turn it upside down with the pointed tip facing upward. Then I crease the center of each strip and stick the needle through it. I repeat with the next strip and position them in a clockward position. It normally takes about nine strips for each layer. I use three layers. When it is all done I just pull the thread through and then wrap it around in the center area and then tie it as tight at possible.
