Maxine, I know this is an old post, but in case you are still looking for help, I make bottle cap korkers. I make my korkers longer than my normal 3" so there's allowance for the cattle cap flattening the korkers a bit. I add about a half an inch extra. I make my korker like normal. Then here's the trick I use: using a paper piercer or similar sharp tool, I take my blank bottle cap and pierce two holes in the center. Then I use a thin needle and string my thread through the hole. Then I tie it around the center of my korker. Finally i attach it to a partially lined clip. Does that make sense? That way it's secure. I haven't had good luck gluing them so I came up with this method and I haven't had any complaints.
