I don't print my images at home. It's cheaper for me to print them through a photo lab (usually 10¢ a piece) and you don't have to worry about the images smearing. The only down side is if you do custom caps you have to wait a little longer. If you try to print through walgreens be sure to call them and tell them you don't want to the auto correct, photos come out horrible and off color with it and great without.
I don't seal my images and the only ones that have ever come close to "running" are the ones with A LOT of red in them, the resin gets a little pink-ish.
