Default Re: What do you use to stiffen your bows?

Spray starch here is not very affordable so I cook cornstarch mixed with a little water on boiling water to thicken. I use the Liwayway brand (I'm not sure if they are available in Filipino or Asian stores in the States) since they dry out evenly on fabric compared to the regular cornstarch where there would be glob spots of thickened starch on the fabric when they dry.

If I want them to last a little longer, I use a mixture of white padding glue with water and apply it with a sponge on the fabric. I prefer this over cooking cornstarch since it's not as messy to make.
