Heat and Bond has a paper backing on it to protect it. Keep it on. Cut the heat and bond to fit the amount of fabric you will be using. If you are going to do more than one tie out of that fabric be sure you have ironed on enough heat and bond for all of the ties. Then iron the heat and bond onto the fabric. Draw your pattern for the ties onto the paper backing and then cut them out. Do not pull the paper backing off until you are ready to iron the cutout onto the garmet. If the paper won't stay on the cutout you may have to pin it on. It will stay neater if the backing is on it but it is not ruined if it comes off.
