Default Re: Weighted Blanket Tut

I have two daughters with autism (ages 19 and 7). I used to make weighted vests all the time. They were basically a vest pattern that opened on the sides instead of the front and is pulled over the head. The sides are then secured with velcro. On the inside bottom, you'll make two pockets in the back and two in the front. I then used modeling clay (because it came in one pound packages and had 4 each color was a quarter pound) for my weights. I divided the amount of weight I needed by 4 and placed the modeling clay in ziploc baggies and flattened it. The weights then go in the pockets. My youngest daughter loved her weighted vests so much. They really calmed her down.
