My daughter got my super-fine hair (lucky her).

When I make stacked bows for her, I just make them a little smaller than standard and use them to gather her bangs off to the side. I think that helps it not look so much like an alien.

For bows I buy for her that are bigger, I just gather as much hair as I can into a ponytail on the top of her head, at back of her head (like a cheerleading ponytail, kind of) and stick the bow in front of that. I actually usually stick the clip INTO the ponytail. I've found that helps with it staying in.
